Fluoroscopy is a continuous X-ray image displayed on a monitor, allowing for real-time monitoring of a procedure or passage of a solution through the internal structures of your body. It provides very detailed images of function and the structure of areas like the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. The defecography technique involves insertion of a special solidified solution that is the same consistency as stool into the rectum and is carried out with the patient in a toilet-like seated position. Defecography detects and evaluates abnormalities underlying disorders such as constipation or defecation difficulties.
