Malignant breast masses or microcalcifications (small calcification) can be recognized more clearly with high digital quality films.
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography)
In addition to full-field digital mode, our mammography unit offers spot-magnified technique and is equipped to perform mammography-guided biopsy. With this system, mammography-guided biopsy (thick needle or vacuum biopsy) can be performed under the guidance of digital system with error margin of 0.3 mm. Diagnosis of some malignant microcalcifications (calcifications) that cannot be detected by examination or ultrasonography and even by magnetic resonance imaging is only possible by mammography-guided biopsy.
Our mammography unit equipped with the technology of both full-field digital imaging and mammography-guided biopsy (for lesions that can only be seen in mammography and cannot be diagnosed in other modalities).
Transferred to the same photographic film sheet, MLO and CC mammographic views are evaluated comparatively.
