Our previous 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit has been upgraded with the latest technology in October 2013. Having significantly increased magnetic field strengths and efficiency, the unit provides faster and sharper diagnostic images.
MAGNETOM Skyra MRI unit: wider bore size (70cm), increased gradient strength (3Tesla, XQ Gradients (45 mT / m @ 200 T / m / s)), equipped with Tim-4G and DOT-Engine softwares making scanning faster
There is also a significant increase in the number of examinations that can be performed with our 3-Tesla MRI unit. In this unit; routine exams such as brain (cranial), neck soft tissue, spinal cord-musculoskeletal system (spinal-disc-vertebra, extremity-orthopaedic images), upper abdomen (liver-kidney-spleen-pancreas-adrenal glands), lower abdomen (bladder, uterus) ovaries, prostate) and obstetric-gynaecologic imaging can be performed faster and with a higher resolution.

Moreover, advanced MRI applications offer a wide range of new examinations. These examinations;
Functional MRI (fMRI) produces activation maps by detecting changes of brain regions of sensorimotor, visual, language, and auditory tasks. It is especially used to provide brain mapping before epilepsy tumour surgery by determining and measuring activated brain areas handling critical functions such as finger tapping, speech, vision, hearing.
Thus, surgical planning can be performed and the protocol can be designed, allowing a treatment with better efficacy and fewer side effects to take place.
